The most affordable way to have art in your own home

People always say that art is expensive. Not quite. Here I show you the cheapest way to hang something in your own home.

As with bicycles, cars, and many other items, there is no upper limit to the price range for wall decorations. One can spend a considerable amount on art, or one can limit oneself to the Brooklyn Bridge picture from Ikea that hangs in millions of households.

However, there is also something in between.

Picture frames really enhance every image

The best picture frames come from Nielsen or Halbe Rahmen. But that's not what we're talking about here. The cheapest frames are available at a thriftstore.

How to save money at home

  • Buy a small picture frame at a thrift store. These frames cost between 0.5 and 5 CHF. The more crooked the frame, the better.
  • Buy a postcard from me for 2.50 in the poster basement.
  • Adjust the postcard to the size of your frame. Cut it to size, insert it, and you're done.
  • Hang it up, enjoy it, repeat. For 6 Swiss francs, you now have a unique piece of art on your wall. And if you make more, you'll have a mini gallery.
  • This DIY idea is perfect for anyone looking for affordable art for their home, wanting to make their own wall decorations, or simply craving a bit of visual variety—without spending a lot of money.

Anyway. That's it for now. Have a great week :)
