Swiss football fan shirts - An experiment
Is it possible to design a Swiss fan shirt for the Women's European Championship that isn't cringeworthy? An attempt during a rainy Sunday.
rssThe current form of the Swiss cross is not that old. Like all national flags, the cross originates from the military tradition and was only defined as the Swiss troop flag in 1840. Before that, the tradition was that the cantonal flag of the respective troops was carried. However, the Swiss cross is much older. A depiction from 1615 on a coin already shows a Swiss cross surrounded by cantonal coats of arms.

Red is simply a brutally hard color for clothes. It's really difficult to create something you want to wear. Broken or pastel shades of red work better than pure bold red.

I would probably opt for the hoodie. But unfortunately, I don't have tickets for the women's European Championship match between Switzerland and Spain in the Wankdorf, nor do I like producing these textiles.

The eggplant is a beautiful color and goes perfectly with the Swiss cross. But red is the best color in the stadium.

I think I'll go for the hoodie
Turns out: I'm more in the business of swiss posters, rather than fanshirts
