Poster, Noonday Daemon, A1

I wish I’d stayed by the lake.
In the shade under the trees.

In the popular beliefs of antiquity and the Middle Ages, it was widely held that midday was a time when spirits and gods were most likely to appear; such claims are still made today. I knew better, of course, and set off from Sugiez, crossing the Vaud border and heading up through the fields. Unfortunately, that was my last day

«Buchbilder» Exhibition 2026: «Bestiarium»

I created this design for the «Buchbilder» exhibition in 2026 at the Stauffacher in Bern, running from 8 May to 15 June, on the theme of «Bestiarum». As a huge Witcher fan, I’ve played through all three games in great detail. And in The Witcher 1, you encounter a «Noonday Daeomn» during one of the quests.

I found this forgotten, ancient belief – that it’s better to take a siesta at midday rather than toiling away in the fields or in the mines – fascinating and relevant to our times.

Stauffacher Bookshop is the largest bookshop in Bern and is located just off the eastern station exit, along Neuengasse:

The ‘Buchbilder’ exhibition is at the very back of the calendar cellar on the first basement level. There is a small passageway in the wall near the children’s books. The exhibition is located there.

Quite a few topics have accumulated over the years. I’ve summarized them here: Exhibition: Book Illustrations, 8 May

As a fan of The Witcher series, I've played all three games and read almost all the books. In one quest in The Witcher 1, you encounter a Noonday Phantom whose curse you must break so that she can finally rest and stop killing farmers.

The exhibition's theme, "Bestiary," brought this quest back to mind. It was so beautiful and tragic to encounter that tormented spirit in those bright summer fields—a spirit bound by a curse that prevented it from finding eternal rest until the Witcher discovered how to break it.

Your order (if it is a poster) will be sent without a frame in a sturdy cardboard roll via Swiss Post

I do not ship frames with my prints. However, there are suppliers offering excellent products:

In my opinion, the most attractive and simplest frames are „Halbe Rahmen“. A German Product. These feature a unique mounting principle with magnetic frames. This allows the pictures to be framed effortlessly without tools or annoying clips.

Metal picture frame

Wooden picture frame

These are formats cut flush with the poster size. However, it can also be nice to choose a larger frame. Real glass can also be used for the smaller A2 and A1 formats. For safety reasons, I recommend only using Plexiglas for the large F4 world format.

Please remember:

Printed graphics on paper are a natural product and tolerances may vary by +/- 5 mm depending on size.

A3 - The small one (29.7 x 59.4 cm)

As big as two A4 sheets. Pretty small. Suitable for an office desk or very small rooms or narrow corridors where you can see the motif up close.

A2 - The small big one (42 x 59.4 cm)

A “small poster.” Often seen posted randomly, e.g., on electrical boxes or construction site barriers.

A1 - The big small one (59.4 x 841 cm)

A real poster. This is no longer small. Good for medium-sized rooms such as living rooms, dining rooms, etc.

F4 - World format (89.5 x 128 cm)

The flagship. Same size as APG street posters, e.g., on streets or on round cultural pillars. For really large rooms, such as lofts or bedrooms, which contain few elements.

As picture frames in F4 format are very difficult to obtain, we offer ready-mounted pictures in F4 format, which are delivered directly to your home. This service is provided by the Uldry print shop in Hinterkappelen.

The pictures are mounted on an aluminum dibond board. Two U-profiles are attached to the back of the panel, which allow easy hanging using two nails or screws.

As a small company, we do not deliver as quickly as Amazon Prime, but with heart and commitment. Thank you for your patience and support!
