Poster, Noonday Daemon, A1

I wish I’d stayed by the lake.
In the shade under the trees.

In the popular beliefs of antiquity and the Middle Ages, it was widely held that midday was a time when spirits and gods were most likely to appear; such claims are still made today. I knew better, of course, and set off from Sugiez, crossing the Vaud border and heading up through the fields. Unfortunately, that was my last day

«Buchbilder» Exhibition 2026: «Bestiarium»

I created this design for the «Buchbilder» exhibition in 2026 at the Stauffacher in Bern, running from 8 May to 15 June, on the theme of «Bestiarum». As a huge Witcher fan, I’ve played through all three games in great detail. And in The Witcher 1, you encounter a «Noonday Daeomn» during one of the quests.

I found this forgotten, ancient belief – that it’s better to take a siesta at midday rather than toiling away in the fields or in the mines – fascinating and relevant to our times.

Stauffacher Bookshop is the largest bookshop in Bern and is located just off the eastern station exit, along Neuengasse:
Neuengasse 25–37, 3011 Bern

The ‘Buchbilder’ exhibition is at the very back of the calendar cellar on the first basement level. There is a small passageway in the wall near the children’s books. The exhibition is located there.

Quite a few topics have accumulated over the years. I’ve summarized them here: Exhibition: Book Illustrations, 8 May

As a fan of The Witcher series, I've played all three games and read almost all the books. In one quest in The Witcher 1, you encounter a Noonday Phantom whose curse you must break so that she can finally rest and stop killing farmers.

The exhibition's theme, "Bestiary," brought this quest back to mind. It was so beautiful and tragic to encounter that tormented spirit in those bright summer fields—a spirit bound by a curse that prevented it from finding eternal rest until the Witcher discovered how to break it.

FAQ Products & Shipping

Your order (provided it is a poster) will be shipped unframed in a sturdy cardboard tube.

If you have ordered a mounted F4 poster, it will be delivered to you directly by the Bernese printing company Uldry (this service is only available within Switzerland).

No, I ship my posters without picture frames. However, there are providers with great products that I can recommend.

In my opinion, the most beautiful and simplest frames are so-called "Halbe Rahmen" (half-frames). These feature a unique mounting principle using magnetic frames. This allows the pictures to be framed effortlessly without any tools or annoying clips.

Metal Picture Frames

Wooden Picture Frames

With these frames, the formats are cut flush to the poster size. However, it can also look great to choose a larger frame to give the motif more breathing room with a passe-partout (mat board). Real glass can be used for the smaller A2 and A1 formats. For the large F4 world format, I recommend only using Plexiglas for safety reasons.

Please keep in mind: When dealing with graphic prints on paper, you are looking at a natural product, and tolerances can be +/- 5 mm depending on the size.

I offer all poster sizes, from the smallest poster format A3 to the world format ("Weltformat") F4. Here is an overview with the most important information:

A3 – The small one (29.7 x 42 cm)
As large as a double A4 sheet. Suitable for cozy niches, smaller rooms, or narrow hallways where the motif can be viewed from up close.

A2 – The small large one (42 x 59.4 cm)
A classic "small poster", as large as a double A3 sheet. This format is frequently seen in Swiss cities for wild postering. It is ideally suited for rooms that have something to say – for the kids' room, the office, or as an eye-catcher in the kitchen.

A1 – The large small one (59.4 x 84.1 cm)
A proper poster. This one isn't really that small anymore. It fits perfectly above the sofa in the living room, next to the dining table, in a practice/office space, or in a spacious entrance hall.

F4 – World format / Weltformat (89.5 x 128 cm)
The flagship for your wall design. The exact same size as the APG street billboards used in Swiss outdoor advertising. An absolute eye-catcher for really large spaces, wide lofts, or minimally furnished rooms.

Since picture frames in the F4 world format are hardly available in regular retail stores, I offer my F4 posters ready-mounted.

The posters are securely mounted onto a sturdy aluminum Dibond (Alu-Dibond) panel. Two U-profiles are pre-installed on the back, making it incredibly easy for you to hang it up using just two nails or screws.

This service is handled by my partner printing company Uldry in Hinterkappelen (Bern) and is delivered directly to your home in the highest quality.

Please note: Due to their size, mounted F4 posters are only delivered within Switzerland.
